Guidance Notes

This section is designed to help you understand Grimple's Green Grants and to help you fill out our application form to make the most of your project through answer suggestions.

Firstly we recommend that you take a look at each section regarding eligibility, rules and regulations and the application form. This will help you get thinking about your project and how it is relevant to Grimple's Green Grants.

Eligibility

Please check the eligibility section. Remember, you can always contact us to ask us directly if you are eligible if you are not sure by emailling greengrants@greeninsurancecompany.co.uk

Rules and Regulations

Our rules and regulations are standard and straightforward. Please take the time to read through them before beginning your application. Again, you can always contact us by email if you are unsure about anything.

Application Form

You may want to copy down the questions and write up an answer and review it to give yourself the best chance. A good application usually comes with time and is not rushed! Once you have entered your contact details you can save your application and return to it when you are ready.

It is essential to answer the questions which are highlighted by an *. If you do not answer all of these questions you will not be able to submit that section until it is completed. There are maximum word limits on some of our questions. Please be aware of the (!) symbol to highlight your attention to this. Word limits have been imposed to give you a guide of how much to write.

Section 2:4 Extended Questions

In our extended question section use these questions to tell us a broad range of information about your project, try not to repeat yourself when answering the different questions. These questions are open ended, designed to give you the opportunity to talk specifically about a certain aspect of your project or you can give us a broad answer too - it's up to you!

Please use the information icon ( i ) on the application to show examples of some discussion points.

Section 3 Financial Details

At the beginning of the application form you are asked to choose which grant to apply for.

£2,000 Grant: Although we are offering maximum grants of up to £2,000 it is not necessary to apply for this. You should simply apply for what you need for your project. A project seeking £100 has the same chance of being successful as a project seeking £2,000. We just ask that you are realistic in your budgeting. If we think you are applying for a larger grant than what you need, you will not be considered for funding.

£10,000 Grant: It is important to remember that only one £10,000 grant is being made available, which will be subject to a public vote from a shortlist compiled by the judging panel. Similarly, you should only apply for the £10,000 grant if it is realistic for your project’s budgeting.

Section 3.3 Extended Financial Plan

We would like to know if you have already applied for other funding and if you are eventually granted funding from us, where our money will be going. Please try your best to account for the majority of expenditures. We understand this may be a difficult task but we need to know that you are managing your finances successfully. Section 3:3 is not essential to fill in but your efforts in completing this section will be noted.

Section 4 Optional Questions

Remember that this section is optional. If you are struggling to find something more to say, create a video or cannot find any photographs then leave it blank.

If you can think of something more to tell us then great, it's an added bonus! We will take this into account during the judging process.

Section 4:2

We are giving you the opportunity to impress us with photographs or a short video as well as give you the opportunity to upload supporting documents to us. We suggest that the video should last around three minutes, however less than three minutes is fine. We have set an upper limit of four minutes on the video. Videos longer than four minutes will not be viewed. We cannot stress enough that we are unable to return any photographs or documents, please upload these documents onto the form or send us photocopied versions to the following address:
