Are You Eligible?

The Green Insurance Company is offering you the chance to secure individual grants of up to £2,000 to support your environmentally friendly green projects. Our judging panel will review all the applications before allocating the grants of up to £2,000.

We are also offering a one off grant of up to £10,000 for larger projects. Worthy projects will be selected by our judging panel with the public voting on which one will receive the £10,000 grant. The runner up projects will also receive £500 grants. Before applying please take a moment to read through our criteria below – and good luck!

Eligibility

  • Your project can either apply for a grant of up to £2,000, or if a clear justification of costs can be given, apply to be shortlisted for the one off £10,000 award.
  • The project must be focused on benefiting the environment
  • Your project must based within the United Kingdom
  • Projects seeking or have already obtained funding from other funding bodies can be included
  • You must be a non-profit organisation
  • Applications from religious or political groups promoting green projects, but not their beliefs, are welcome
  • Projects must have a clear green element
  • Your organisation must have a bank account
  • You agree to the publication of your project by The Green Insurance Company
  • If your project is allocated a grant, you agree to use our digital toolkit (which will be supplied) to advertise The Green Insurance Company on your project website (if you have one) and electronic communications advertising your project.
  • Your project must be completed or occur within 12 months of receiving your funding


It would be beneficial if your project also fits the following desired criteria:

  • Your building or field site has disabled access
  • You can provide evidence that your project is sustainable beyond two years
  • You can include a short video in your application
  • You can include photographs in your application


Ineligibility

  • Projects should not apply for the £10,000 grant if there is no financial justification for this amount.
  • All other grants applied for can only be for a maximum of £2,000
  • Funding must not be used for personal use such as home improvements
  • Funding cannot be used for carbon off-setting or to buy renewable energies
  • Projects must not be orientated with a religious or political focus
